C-DOT Launches 14 Indigenous Quantum Products for Security
During its 43rd Foundation Day, C-DOT unveiled 14 production-grade indigenous quantum products aimed at enhancing national communications security. These products include Quantum Key Distribution systems and Post-Quantum Cryptography solutions, supporting India's Bharat 6G vision and generating over $1 million in early revenue.

On August 25, 2026, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) marked its 43rd Foundation Day by introducing 14 indigenous quantum products. These systems, which focus on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), are intended to strengthen national communication security. During the event, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani discussed the integration of quantum security into future networks, including the upcoming 6G architecture.
The new portfolio consists of QKD hardware, digital signatures for PQC, and quantum-safe encryption units. These tools provide a way for financial institutions and telecom operators to move from vulnerable classical public-key infrastructures to more secure systems. Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, the CEO of C-DOT, confirmed that these are production-grade solutions. They have already earned over $1 million in early revenue from Indian networks, marking their initial entry into the market.
In collaboration with the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the government has established a regulatory framework to help adopt these technologies. This framework has been shared with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to guide the migration toward quantum security in financial and digital identity systems. These developments are part of the Bharat 6G Vision, which seeks to establish India's role in next-generation telecommunications by 2030.
India is also working to include quantum encryption and PQC in international 6G standards through organizations like 3GPP and the ITU. This focus on indigenous technology is intended to improve self-reliance and protect critical infrastructure. C-DOT now plans to move from research and development into international commercial marketing. The objective is to export these "Made in India, Made for the World" quantum products, expanding the country's technological presence and supporting future developments in cybersecurity and telecommunications.
