Courier Connects Rural Elders with Children Abroad in China

Tian Rui, a 39-year-old former courier from Yichang in Hubei Province, China, helps connect elderly residents with their children who work overseas. Since last year, he has made over 200 trips into remote mountain villages. He often spends time with them, sharing tea and stories, which helps to ease their feelings of isolation. The connections he maintains are far-reaching; his most distant client lives in Bolivia.
