Rohini Gram Panchayat Achieves Full Digital Service Delivery

Rohini Gram Panchayat, located in Dhule district of Maharashtra, has made significant strides in digital governance by achieving 100% digital service delivery through the integration of various platforms, including e-GramSwaraj, Meri Panchayat, CSC, and Aaple Sarkar. This initiative has streamlined operations and led to a remarkable 30% increase in revenue. The Panchayat has successfully issued over 9,000 certificates and maintained a 100% record for timely grievance redressal. Furthermore, 95% of tax payments are now made digitally, showcasing the community's adaptation to this transformation.

This digital shift has greatly improved the accessibility of services, allowing citizens to obtain necessary documentation via web, mobile, email, and WhatsApp without the need for physical appearances. The journey towards a digital village began with the government’s e-Panchayat mission mode project, aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in rural governance. Launched by the Prime Minister on April 24, 2020, the e-GramSwaraj portal has been pivotal in connecting approximately 2.44 lakh Gram Panchayats to a robust financial management system, facilitating over ₹39,440 crores in payments through this interface.

The project has seen extensive adoption, with around 94.37% of Panchayats utilizing the portal for planning, accounting, and reporting progress on various works, ensuring efficient fund flows and financial accountability. The Panchayat introduced initiatives such as digital sakhi, mobile ICT vans, and pictorial information boards to engage less digitally savvy populations, including the elderly and tribal communities.
