Axpo has officially opened the Vilecha solar complex in León province, Spain, marking a significant achievement in the expansion of renewable energy. This large-scale facility comprises four photovoltaic plants, each with a capacity of 50 MWp, for a total of 200 MWp. Covering an area of 310 hectares, the complex began supplying renewable electricity to the Spanish grid in February 2026. The inauguration ceremony was held on August 31, 2026, and attended by Axpo executives, local authorities, partner companies, and representatives from the Swiss Embassy to Spain and Andorra. The Vilecha project demonstrates Axpo's commitment to increasing renewable energy sources across Europe while working to reduce emissions through large-scale energy solutions.
