Iran's Largest Solar Farm Connected to National Grid

On August 26, 2026, Iran made a significant advancement in renewable energy by connecting its largest solar facility, a 72 MW solar farm located in Esfarayen, North Khorasan province, to the national grid. Covering an area of 121 hectares, this facility is projected to generate about 145,000 MWh of electricity annually. Integrating this solar farm into the national grid marks a pivotal step towards enhancing Iran's clean energy capacity and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.
