SWELECT Commissions 10 MW Solar Power Plant in Tamil Nadu
SWELECT Energy Systems has successfully commissioned a 10 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, aimed at supplying clean electricity to industrial consumers.

SWELECT Energy Systems Limited has announced the commissioning of a new 10 MW solar power plant located in Nedumpirai Village, Cheyyar Taluk, in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu, India. The project achieved commercial operation on August 24, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio. This development is part of a broader initiative to enhance the availability of clean electricity in the region, particularly for industrial and commercial consumers who are increasingly seeking sustainable energy sources.
The commissioning of this solar plant aligns with the Indian government's commitment to promote renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions. The facility is designed to connect at the 33 kV level to an existing 110/33 kV 10(1) Pooling Sub Station, which was previously established by SWELECT Energy Systems. This connection plays a crucial role in integrating the solar power generated into the existing power infrastructure, ensuring a reliable supply of electricity to consumers.
On the ground, the implementation of the solar plant involved strategic planning and collaboration with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational efficiency. The project is expected to significantly contribute to the local economy by providing clean energy and creating job opportunities during both the construction and operational phases. Moreover, the plant supports the Group Captive Power Sale model, allowing designated industrial and commercial consumers to benefit from the generated renewable electricity.
The broader economic and environmental benefits of this solar power plant are noteworthy. By generating renewable energy, the facility contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and supports India's transition towards a more sustainable energy future. Additionally, it provides businesses with a viable opportunity to increase their renewable energy consumption, aligning with global sustainability goals.
The project exemplifies how investments in clean energy can yield significant returns for both the environment and the economy. Looking ahead, SWELECT Energy Systems plans to continue expanding its renewable energy initiatives, with additional projects in the pipeline. The successful commissioning of this solar power plant not only adds to the company’s operational assets but also reflects a growing trend within the energy sector towards sustainable solutions.
As the demand for clean energy continues to rise, the significance of such projects will only increase, reinforcing the importance of renewable energy in the global energy landscape.
